About half a million Indians had migrated to distant Mauritius about 200 years ago. This was as a part of what the British called, the Great Experiment under which they got indentured labour from India for working in the Sugarcane fields and estates of Mauritius. This has resulted in the Indian diaspora today forming almost 68% of the population of Mauritius. These Mauritians today carry the culture and traditions of India in their hearts. This video captures the conversation with a few Mauritians of Indian descent.
