Indian PM Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on July 8, marking his first visit to the Kremlin since the invasion of Ukraine. Before departing for the two-day trip, Modi used the term “friend” for his Russian counterpart, as per a statement by the Indian foreign ministry. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a “jealous” West was closely following the meeting of “great significance.”
