Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora in Sydney on Tuesday, as he attended a special community event along with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese. The event, organised by the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation (IADF), celebrated the country’s dynamic and diverse Indian community, which comprises 2.8 per cent of the Australian population.
PM Modi, who is visiting Australia as a guest of the Australian Government, addressed the crowd of more than 20,000 people at the Qudos Bank Arena, where he praised the contributions of the Indian-Australian community to both countries. He also highlighted the shared values and interests of India and Australia in a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
