गौतम बुद्ध (जन्म 563 ईसा पूर्व – निर्वाण 483 ईसा पूर्व) एक श्रमण थे जिनकी शिक्षाओं पर बौद्ध धर्म का प्रचलन हुआ।इनका जन्म लुंबिनी में 563 ईसा पूर्व इक्ष्वाकु वंशीय क्षत्रिय शाक्य कुल के राजा शुद्धोधन के घर में हुआ था। उनकी माँ का नाम महामाया था जो कोलीय वंश से थीं, जिनका इनके जन्म के सात दिन बाद निधन हुआ, उनका पालन महारानी की छोटी सगी बहन महाप्रजापती गौतमी ने किया। सिद्धार्थ विवाहोपरांत एक मात्र प्रथम नवजात शिशु राहुल और धर्मपत्नी यशोधरा को त्यागकर संसार को जरा, मरण, दुखों से मुक्ति दिलाने के मार्ग एवं सत्य दिव्य ज्ञान की खोज में रात्रि में राजपाठ का मोह त्यागकर वन की ओर चले गए। वर्षों की कठोर साधना के पश्चात बोध गया (बिहार) में बोधि वृक्ष के नीचे उन्हें ज्ञान की प्राप्ति हुई और वे सिद्धार्थ गौतम से भगवान बुद्ध बन गए।सिद्धार्थ ने गुरु विश्वामित्र के पास वेद और उपनिषद् को तो पढ़ा ही , राजकाज और युद्ध-विद्या की भी शिक्षा ली। कुश्ती, घुड़दौड़, तीर-कमान, रथ हाँकने में कोई उसकी बराबरी नहीं कर पाता। सोलह वर्ष की उम्र में सिद्धार्थ का कन्या यशोधरा के साथ विवाह हुआ। पिता द्वारा ऋतुओं के अनुरूप बनाए गए वैभवशाली और समस्त भोगों से युक्त महल में वे यशोधरा के साथ रहने लगे जहाँ उनके पुत्र राहुल का जन्म हुआ। लेकिन विवाह के बाद उनका मन वैराग्य में चला और सम्यक सुख-शांति के लिए उन्होंने अपने परिवार का त्याग कर दिया।महात्मा बुद्ध ने नश्वर संसार के ताप-कष्टों को दूर करने तथा जीवन का रहस्य जानने के लिए गृहत्याग किया और लंबे समय तक काया-कष्ट सहकर ज्ञान प्राप्त किया; उन्हें जीव-जगत् का बोध हुआ, इसलिए वे ‘बौद्ध’ कहलाए। उन्होंने मानवता को अहिंसा का उपदेश दिया। कोई गूढ़ या ज्ञान की बात कितनी भी सरल भाषा में कही जाए, तो भी संपूर्ण समझ में नहीं आ पाती है; लेकिन उसे कहानी का रूप दे दिया जाए तो वह सहज ही हमेशा के लिए याद हो जाती है। महात्मा बुद्ध की ये कहानियाँ ऐसी ही हैं। इसमें उनके जीवन की घटनाओं तथा शिक्षाओं को सीधी-सरल भाषा में कहानियों के माध्यम से बताया गया है। ये छोटी-छोटी कहानियाँ अपने आप में अलग-अलग हैं और एक-दूसरी से जुड़ी हुई भी। लेकिन फिर भी कथा- रस से भरपूर हैं। Click & Buy Customer Reviews — 3.9 out of 5 stars 8 4.3 out of 5 stars 212 4.1 out of 5 stars 126 4.1 out of 5 stars 10 4.3 out of 5 stars 144 Price — ₹51.45₹51.45 ₹137.75₹137.75 ₹141.60₹141.60 ₹59.06₹59.06 ₹148.33₹148.33
