More than 100 people have been killed and several were injured in a stampede in Northern India. The tragedy occurred during a religious event in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The state’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and instructed officials in the Hathras district to speed up the relief and rescue operations. He also ordered an investigation into the cause of the incident. India’s President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their condolences to the families of the deceased. Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi also offered his condolences and urged workers of the INDIA alliance to assist in relief and rescue efforts.
