We can criticise and have criticised Vir Das when he went out and delivered a piece on how he lives in two Indias. But here I beg to differ, we indeed live in two Indias. One part of India is hardworking, which dedicates its time in earning its livelihood and contributing to the growth of the nation. The second class comprises the wine sipping intellectuals who discuss problems of India while sitting in AC rooms.
But wait, why do I need to make such differentiation when I literally hate to draw such lines. It is because India has not been able to resurrect to full stature for a very long time due to these elites. Despite constant efforts by Prime Ministers like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi to show India’s might on the global stage, the Western nations still perceived India as a third world nation. However, the perception has drastically transformed post Russia-Ukraine crisis.
