Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) Regional Centre, Chandigarh has organized a 10-day Workshop on Leadership and Personality Development through Adventure Sports at ABVIMAS Manali Himachal Pradesh, in which 52 Participants from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan participated with great enthusiasm to enhance their Leadership Skills. This training has been designed to explore the concepts of leadership and group dynamics as the participants pertain to working with groups in outdoor adventure settings to develop ones’ overall personality. This training benefited the students in enhancing their core competency skills to become successful in their life through Adventure Sports. The Workshop aimed at imparting knowledge about Leadership and Personality Development through Adventure Sports, which in today’s time are required to succeed in every field and is necessary for every individual. Adventure activities in which participants have taken part tremendously contributed to the holistic development of participants. During Adventure Camp, participants learned qualities like leadership skills, team spirit, how to deal the various situations, Life skills etc. During the 10-day training programme, participants were involved in various activities like mountaineering, trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, bungee jumping, River crossing, and other outdoor games like Treasure Hunt, volleyball, tug of war etc. And other sessions on Leadership and their styles, Time Management, Positive attitude and various activities. Adventure Sports helped the participants to develop the skills and improved self-esteem and working under pressure and stress which are the lifeline of a leader.
