Religion in Delhi (Republic Of India) is characterized by a diversity of religious beliefs and practices. Republic of Delhi (Republic Of India) as centres of worship for a multitude of faiths. It has about (99.883%) Believer population which is extremely high and one of the highest in the Whole India. According to the Census 2022 AD. Hinduism is the largest religion in the Delhi (Republic Of India) with (76.25%). The Second most wide religion is Islam with (17.18%) and also a growing religion there. The Third most wide religion is Sikhism with (3.90%)and on Forth Christianity with (1.1%) & Others remaining includes Jainism (1.09%), Buddhism (0.26%), Zoroastrianism & many etc. The Delhi (Republic Of India) is Secular; the Delhi (Republic Of India) government recognizes no official religion. During Corona Pandemic, Other religions growing but it’s remain a Hindu majority in future years. There are also a small number of Delhiite who belong to No Religion Affiliations/Category (which includes Atheism, Agnosticism, Non-theism, Secular humanism along with No Response) account for (0.117%). Today, Delhi (Republic Of India) is home as it has great influence of Hinduism. Its an ancient religion there.
Delhi (Republic Of India) is Secular and Secularization is also present.
Delhi (Republic Of India) has Non-Hindu population (23.633%) which is religious affiliated to other religions which is so quit high as compared to the total population. During Partition between both India and Pakistan Muslim, Hindu and Sikh population exchange happened.
Very small minorities of Traditional religions are also present in Delhi (Republic Of India).
Judaism also have a long historic presence in Delhi (Republic Of India).
The Jama Masjid was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656.
St James’ Church, built 1836, is the oldest church in Delhi.
Lal Mandir is a Jain temple in Old Delhi dating to the 17th century which was rebuilt in 1878.
Birla Mandir, Delhi, a Hindu temple, was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1933.
The prayer hall of Sikh Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi which dates to 1783.

Controversy of Muslim population in India:
As per as 2011 census of India, it was found that 172.2 million Muslims were living in India as its citizens, constituting 14.2% of the country’s population. As per as recent estimation of year (2020) Indian religious demography by Pew research center, it has been found that 213.34 million Muslims are living in India constituting 15.4% of the country’s population. But however, at a same time, many individuals and experts have said that the Muslim population in India is more than the expected census results, leading to a heated debate and controversies as their claim of being that estimation as truth is still not known today. As per as Zakir Naik, he claimed that India has over 250-300 million Muslims. He also told that the government of India suppress real Muslim population. As per as author Shakir Lakhani, there should be at least 90 million Indian Muslims who have not been registered by the Indian authorities during last census.
